Last Saturday we had a very successful Drop Off Day/Pillow Drive/Delivery thanks to Matt Schott, Alan Heins, Mike Fishman, Sam Paul and volunteer newbie Marnie. Matt, Alan and Sam took on the delivery to Jessica and her two daughters. We managed to fit a twin bed, a Thomas the Train Engine toddler bed, sofa, loveseat, coffee table, TV and TV stand, 3 end tables, 2 dressers, a kitchen table and 2 chairs and boxes of linens, dishware, flatware, glassware, pots & pans, cooking utensils and bakeware into an empty one-bedroom apartment. Jessica was very happy to have her bed back to herself and was very grateful for everything we gave her and her family. While the delivery team was on the road, Marnie tackled the miscellaneous room; which is kind of a hazing ritual for new volunteers. It never looked better. Thanks Marnie! Mike stayed busy in the dish room when he wasn’t accepting new pillows from area donors. We collected 64 pillows in all, which should hold us for awhile. A big thanks again to Diane Mack and Robin Gilmartin for setting up the pillow challenge.
