This Saturday, May 7th, is our first Drop Off Day and the warehouse, located at 93 Talcott Road, WH, will be open from 10:00am – 1:00pm to accept donated household goods. In addition we have a driver in place to make five stops to collect furniture and other household items from donors in West Hartford and Newington. We will need a couple of volunteers to staff the warehouse and 3-4 volunteers to help with the pick-ups. Please let us know if you can help.
Last weekend the team of Alan Heins, Christian Thomas and Peter and Paul Van Doren traveled to Wethersfield and picked up two couches, a love seat, bureau, several chairs, two twin bed sets, linens, a set of silverware and other household items. Thanks to the work of the Saturday volunteers, the Sunday group (Ted Newton, Sam Paul and Team Woods) had the living room furniture to use for the delivery to David in East Hartford. David also received a kitchen table and chairs, bureau, end tables, coffee table, TV stand and everything he needed for his kitchen. Thanks to everyone for helping David turn his empty apartment into a home. The following day, Todd Polley and our dedicated volunteers from ASD made the second delivery this month to Clayton in Hartford who needed everything for his place. Thanks to Todd and ASD for making yet another client happy with furniture for their place.
