Kick Fathers’ Day off with A Hand Up!

We have two deliveries (one big, one small) scheduled for Saturday, 6/18, starting at 10:00am. We have a couple of volunteers already signed up to help but could use a few more, plus a driver. Please let us know if you can help.
Next Friday 6/24 between 9:00am – 2:00pm we have six (!) clients scheduled to come to the warehouse. We have a team of volunteers coming from The Lighthouse to help with the heavy lifting but could use some coordinators who can work one-on-one with the clients to help them pick out the items on their list. Please let us know if you would like to assist.
So what have we been up to? – you ask….Last Saturday the team of Dave Houpert, Todd Polley, Tom Weigmann, Sarah Lemieux and Rich and Cam Chmela went on the AHU equivalent of the Bataan Death March. They made five stops in Farmington & West Hartford to pick up furniture and other household items. The truck was so full after the first three stops that they went to the warehouse, unloaded, and then went back out again to complete the route. Now that is dedication! The warehouse is bursting at the seams with great stuff for our clients. A big thanks to the Saturday crew for their great work for A Hand Up.
Finally, with the Summer Solstice three days away we have a lot of daylight left after work hours. If you have availability during the week and would like to help a family in need, please let us know the date you want to help out and we will match you up with a driver. Start time will be 6:00pm from the warehouse. Thank you for helping us help others.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads!!
