Mid-July – not mid-summers night dream – A Hand Up needs you!

Last Saturday, volunteers Alan Heins, Tom Weigmann, Larry Levere and Sam Paul accomplished two deliveries.  Stephanie came to the warehouse from Southington and the team helped her pick out and load a coffee table and two end tables, a kitchen table and 4 chairs, a TV cart, and a cooler with wheels on it.  The team then loaded up the truck for the delivery to Edwin who had nothing in his apartment.  He received a bed for himself and bed frames for his bed and for the beds for his two girls, leather armchair, dresser, kitchen table and 4 chairs, TV cart, pots & pans, dishware, glassware, silverware, lamps, towels, pillows and some small kitchen appliances.  Edwin was very grateful for the items he received from A Hand Up.  A big thanks to Alan, Tom and Larry for their help.

This Saturday, 7/16, starting at 10:00am from the warehouse, we have scheduled two small deliveries.  Both clients are single moms with kids and have been in the delivery queue since May.  We have a driver already scheduled for Saturday and need 2-3 volunteers to assist.  Please let us know if you can help out.  Our one and only Drop Off Day for July is this Sunday, 7/17, from 10:00am – 1:00pm.  We need several volunteers to staff the warehouse during this time and assist donors as they arrive with household items.  There is sorting and re-organizing to be done during the downtime.
