This Saturday 10/15, at 10:00am, we have a family of five arriving at the warehouse, located at 93 Talcott Road, West Hartford, to pick up furniture and other household items for their apartment. The family recently arrived in the U.S. from Puerto Rico so we need a Spanish-speaker to help translate for us. We also need 2-3 volunteers to help them load the truck they are bringing to the warehouse. We have our second Drop Off Day in October this Sunday, 10/16, from 10:00am – 1:00pm. We desperately need pillows (new only please), towels, twin and full size linens, pots & pans, silverware, small kitchen appliances (toasters, microwaves, coffee makers, etc.) to re-stock our depleted inventory. We have volunteers from UHart’s APO community service fraternity coming to assist donors who stop by to drop off items during the three hours our warehouse is open. We have also scheduled another client to come to the warehouse to pick up furniture and other household items for his apartment. Please let us know if you can help Saturday or Sunday.
Last weekend we only made one delivery on Sunday and thank God for Matt Schott and Cam Chmela for coming to our aid. The two of them loaded and delivered a truckload of furniture to Oscar who had been waiting patiently for two months for his stuff. A two person delivery can be a challenge but Matt and Cam pushed through and made it happen!! Thanks so much for all you do for us.
