This Saturday, 11/5, is our first Drop Off Day for November. Our warehouse, located at 93 Talcott Road, West Hartford, CT, will be open and staffed from 10:00am – 1:00pm. We need lots of stuff; especially twin and full size sheets and blankets, pots & pans, bakeware, cookware, silverware, and small kitchen appliances like microwaves, toasters, coffee makers, etc. We need a team of volunteers to help us re-organize the furniture in the warehouse to make it more usable. We have also scheduled two pick-ups and we need 3-4 volunteers to follow the truck to West Simsbury and West Granby to pick up much needed furniture. If donations aren’t your thing, on Sunday, 11/6, we have scheduled a pick up to a mom and her 3 kids starting at 12:00 noon at the warehouse. We need a driver and 3-4 volunteers to help out this family. Please let us know if you can assist, thanks.
We finished the month of October with 21 deliveries, which is great!! We want to thank Ted & Ronni Newton, Sam & Nick Paul and Tom Wiegmann for helping us complete delivery numbers 19 and 20. The team met at 12:00 noon this past Sunday and filled the truck from front to back with furniture and other household good that were delivered to two clients in the same apartment complex. Both client were on the second floor and the staircase was kind of narrow but the team managed to complete both deliveries in just under three hours. The next day, Todd Polley and our regular volunteer crew from the American School for the Deaf made a delivery to a mom and her two kids in Hartford. Thanks to Todd and ASD for always being there for us. We also made a round of pick-ups last Saturday. A big thanks to the crew, John & Brendan Chan, Lucas Burkacki and Tom Wiegmann, for supplying the muscle and helping us maintain our inventory of furniture and household goods.
