THANK YOU – We had very busy weekend.
Saturday – Sam P with Paul M and his daughter Emily and her two friends from Conard, Elizabeth and Grace along with Larry and Suzanne L completed a delivery to Alonzo in Hartford.  Alonzo had nothing in his first floor (sweet!) apartment and we were able to provide him with a queen size bed (he’s 6’5”), dresser, nightstand, couch, armchair, end table, kitchen table and chairs, bookcase and lots of other household items.
Sunday – Alan H, Jim L, Cam, Thomas, and Matt S really helped out a Veteran on Sunday. It was actually a bit of a 2fer as we couldn’t find a recliner in the warehouse but Matt had a nice old leather one he wanted to donate so we stopped at his place on the way.  The client was very thankful to have soft-backed furniture to augment their wire chairs.   Dave H went to the donor pick-up with Garret, Samuel & Zack (all NWC) as well as Garret’s mom Miriam. They filled up the truck at Gloria’s and didn’t have room for the second donation.  Jim R, Mike F and Marnie helped out in the warehouse for drop off day.
MondayOn Monday Sam P coordinated 13 volunteers from St. James’s Church help us with a delivery and a warehouse clean up.  We made a delivery to Carlos in Hartford.  He also had nothing in his place but an air mattress and a chess board and we outfitted his bedroom, living room, and kitchen.
